ABOUT THE
BEGINNERS OIL PAINTING COURSE:
Step into a warm, welcoming space where creativity flows and beginners
feel instantly at ease. In this relaxed oil painting course, you’ll be
gently guided step-by-step as you explore color, texture, and
imagination in a supportive, fun environment. Painting becomes more
than just learning a new skill — it’s a chance to slow down, quiet the
mind, and reconnect with yourself. As the brush moves across the
canvas, stress melts away, focus deepens, and confidence begins to
grow. Many students find that painting nurtures mindfulness, supports
emotional wellbeing, and offers a meditative, almost spiritual pause
from everyday life — all while building new skills, friendships, and a
joyful sense of creative accomplishment. 🎨✨
THE COURSE STRUCTURE
We generally
have a 1 hour discussion during the course followed by two hours of
painting. You will be
assisted every step of the way.
Week one: Principles of
drawing, underpainting and the
psychology behind how painting works. An in-depth discussion about art
materials.
Week Two: Base layer of
painting. All
about canvases and how to stretch them.
Week
Three:
How to paint detail and shading. All about tonal values.
Week
Four: Colour theory and colour mixing.
Week Five:
The principles of creating mood.
Overcoming artist's block.
Week Six: The principles of
design & the art world. Mixing abstract with realism.
How to capture or
create your reference material.
and much more ...

ABOUT THE INTERMEDIATE PAINTING CLASSES
For Oil
painting, Watercolor, Acrylic, Mixed Media and Gouache.
The
intermediate painting classes offer one-on-one, individual art tuition
within a supportive and inspiring group environment. Designed for
students who have completed a beginners course — as well as
intermediate to advanced artists — each participant works at their own
level and progresses at a comfortable, personal pace.
These
sessions are created to inspire, guide, and further support developing
artists who are ready to deepen their skills, build confidence, and
explore their creative voice. Whether you’re continuing from the
beginners course or seeking fresh direction and motivation, you’ll
receive thoughtful, personalised guidance throughout.
Classes
often begin with a relaxed group discussion, followed by individual
assistance from Bonny Hut, who works closely with each artist during
the session to help nurture their unique style and artistic goals. 🎨✨

WHAT TO BRING
😊 Paintings that you are
busy working on and / or paintings you intend to start.

including your paints, canvas, reference material and brushes. .
😊 If your paintings are
smallish you may be able to leave them in the class. If they are medium

them back for class.
😊 Its will be better if you are able to do some work on it at
